GE Energy proved victorious in Coventry
As the sun beat down in Coventry, Business Fives returned to the city as 8 companies took to the pitch in a bid to become Business Fives Coventry Champions.
The event saw 140 goals scored in 22 matches and over £2,243 raised for various local and national charities.
There was a lot at stake for the companies involved with companies vying for a donation as well as aspirations to secure one of the three qualifying spots available for the National Final in Manchester on the 24th of October.
It was ATD and GE Energy who earned their place at the National final by making it to the Champions League final courtesy of narrow wins over AVL and Intercity
After an 10-goal thriller in the final, it was the GE Energy team who came out winners after a 6-4 win and earned a £350 donation to their chosen charity RJ Foundation.
Ambassador Chris Kirkland was impressed with Jack from GE Energy and singled him out as player of the match in the final. The individual awards continued for GE Energy as they picked up our golden glove award after only conceding 4 goals the entire day. Finally, Ross from ATD raised the top goal scorer trophy after scoring 16 goals.
There was a lot at stake in our Europa League section with a space at our national final and £150 donation up for grabs.
After respected wins over Yes! Logistics Solutions and FANUC UK, it was Majenta and Burgis & Bullock who made their way into the Europa League Final.
After a 3-1 thrilling match it was Burgis & Bullock who dug deep to secure the £150 donation for their chosen charity The Shakespear Hospice and a place at Manchester on October 24th.
A special mention to Majenta on securing the top fundraising award, by raising £1,068 for MND Association.
After the event, Chris Kirkland was on hand to share stories of his stellar playing career and present the trophies to our worthy winners.
Business Fives returns to action in England throughout June with events in Leeds, Manchester and London, to keep an eye out for all fixtures a full list of the events can be found here.

Prizes
At our Coventry Football Tournament there will be a £350 charity donation made to the Champions League Winners & £150 donation to the Europa League winners & £100 for Europa Conference League winners. Awards for Top Fundraisers, Top Goalscorer, Ladies Player of the Tournament, Golden Glove, Player of the Match in Champions League Final
Health & Safety
Our priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients at our events. We provide a medical support team, which is standard at all our events for any injuries that might occur on the pitch.
Players are advised to wear shinpads for safety but this is not mandatory in order to take part and is down to individuals own risk assessments.

Arrival Details
When your team arrives at the Brighton Football Tournament please report to the registration desk, staff at the venue will direct you, where you will register and hand in your waiver should this not already be returned. There will be some casual networking and you will then be shown the changing rooms where you can prepare your team and get ready for the tournament. If possible, please try to arrive no later than 14:00 to make sure that everything is to your satisfaction and the day runs on schedule.
Charity
By taking part in the Coventry Football Tournament you have all helped us raise over £573,000 through our events which we are absolutely thrilled with and we wish you every success in the tournament. We will have a trophy on offer for the top fundraisers at the event so do continue to push your online fundraising pages out throughout the day.
Facilities
There are not always lockers on site to keep your gear secure so please have a plan in place for this. Both male and female changing rooms equipped with showers will be available for players to make use of before and after the tournament.
Drinks Reception
There will be a drinks reception after the tournament with each player getting a drinks token for the beverage of their choice, all teams are encouraged to stay for the prize giving and Q & A session with our guest speakers to network with peers regardless of the outcome of the tournament. Please let us know in advance if you have any questions for our guest speakers and we can add these into the session.
Food & Dietary
There will be a buffet available for players after the tournament and if there is any specific dietary requirements please notify us in advance.
On the Pitch
Please be reminded that player conduct on the pitch reflects upon the image of your company. Players are encouraged to compete in the tournament in a competitive but friendly manner. All players should have read and understood the rules which can be found on our website here prior to taking part.
